If you are unable to fulfill a volunteer shift you signed up for, it is your responsibility to arrange coverage before the swim meet. Below are your options:

OPTION 1: Swap with Another Family

1. Coordinate a job swap with another family right on the Band app!

2. Once both sides agree, email [email protected] & [email protected] at least 48 hours before the meet to confirm the swap.\

OPTION 2: Paid Coverage ($100)

If you can't find coverage on your own, you can request that we find someone for you.

1. Prepare a sealed envelope with $100 cash, labeled with:

• Your name
• The date of the shift
• The job you need covered (ex: 2^nd Shift Food Booth, 1^st Shift Runner)

2. Drop it off at one of these locations:

• The Meet Manager's table at a prior meet, OR
• The GVHRA office (10739 Los Jardines West, Fountain Valley) by Thursday before the meet during normal business hours

3. The Meet Manager will arrange for the shift to be covered. No further action is needed from you.

Note: A $20 administrative fee is retained; the remaining $80 goes to the volunteer as a stipend.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS

• Our meets run because every family shows up and does their part. If something comes up, we get it … life happens. That's exactly why these options exist. What isn't an option is arriving without coverage arranged, as it results in a $150 fine, and that's a conversation none of us want to have. Use the process, reach out early, and we'll figure it out together.
