Final Two Weeks of the Season

Hi GVST Families,

Here are some updates as we head into the final two weeks of our season.

Street Cleaning

This Thursday, July 22nd, is a street cleaning day in Green Valley, but FVPD has agreed to not ticket cars parked on Los Jardines East, between Los Jardines West and La Fonda Circle, during our practice time, so you can park near the pool and not be ticketed.

Meet Schedule, Saturday, 7/24 (Home In-person dual meet vs. Lake Forest)

For this Saturday’s meet, we will use the same schedule that we used at our last home meet:

Girls 8 and under: 8:00 swimmer check-in, 8:15-9:00 race time

Boys 8 and under: 9:10 swimmer check-in, 9:25-10:10 race time

Girls 9 and up: 10:30 swimmer check-in, 10:50-12:20 race time

Boys 9 and up: 12:30 swimmer check-in, 12:50-2:20 pm race time

Times for all volunteers working as timers, lane writers, data entry, gate monitors, and floaters:

1st half volunteers check-in at 7:45, training for timers and lane writers at 8:00

2nd half volunteers check-in at 10:15, training for timers and lane writers at 10:30

Coaches Appreciation Week, July 26-29

We encourage you to show your appreciation of our coaches, Coach Adam, Coach Becca, and Coach Nick, Coach Mia, Coach Margrett and Coach Sierra, during the week of July 26-29.

The coaches love to receive heartfelt expressions of appreciation from our swimmers, such as handmade cards, pictures, and anything else creative.

Also, here are some of the coaches’ favorite restaurants, stores, and snacks:

Mia - Starbuck. Amazon, any kind of snacks

Becca - Starbucks, lululemon, amazon. Fruit, kind bars, and kind of food

Nick - Chipotle, In-n- Out, yogurtland, any snacks or candy, and drawings from his swimmers

Sierra - starbucks, tastea, gummy candies, arizona tea

Margrett - sharetea, tastea, ice cream, anything made by the swimmer

Adam - a gift card/food from your favorite restaurant, starbucks, amazon any kind of candy. Most importantly drawings, cards, poems... anything from the swimmers.

Awards Picnic, Friday, July 30th, 5:00-7:00pm at the GV Adult Clubhouse (17250 Los Jardines West). We will all come together as a team for our end of the season awards picnic. Swimmers who participated in meets will receive awards and recognition for time improvements and achievements during the season. You can set up chairs and picnic blankets in the greenbelt behind the adult clubhouse. Many families typically bring dinner and drinks. The team will provide free ice cream for all swimmers. Please fill in this form to let us know if you’ll be attending. Note: There will be no swim practice on Friday July 30th.
